About Us

Women at their best, working to help other women to be their best.

The White Rock chapter of the Soroptomists is a local volunteer organization that was chartered in 1950, we originally chartered with Blaine just over the border in Washington State. Later we continued on our own. We recently celebrated our 70th Anniversary in March 2020.

We focus on helping women and children in our own community and around the world.

We have raised thousands of dollars over our years of being in operation, distributing the funds to various deserving charities that improve the lives of women.

It’s members enjoy working together to provide funds to assist organizations throughout the community.

The signature project of SI White Rock is called ReSTART program.

Today we have 20 dedicated members and we are always looking for more to join us in our work.

Soroptimist International of White Rock was nominated for Non-Profit Organization of the Year 2021 by the South Surrey White Rock Chamber of Commerce.

Soroptimist was formed in 1921 in Oakland, California, at a time when women were not permitted to join service organizations. Our name, loosely translated from the Latin, means best for women.

The Soroptomists have about 160,000 members and supporters in 21 countries and territories. We are one of four federations that make up Soroptimist International, which has clubs in more than 120 countries throughout the world.
